I'm a japanese who write a diary in English. If there is anything wrong in my English sentence, please let me know the correct English.
Today was my last day of work at my current employer.
Everyone at work graciously sent me off.
I handed out cookies to thanks them for their kindness.
My wife and child pick me up at the station on the way home.
We bought sushi to celebrate my retirement and ate it my home.
A cake was served after the meal.
This was a surprise prepared by my wife.
But it was too big to eat after dinner, so I ate half of it and decided to eat the rest tomorrow.
